Now, many years later the state is home to 25 casinos, eight of which can be reached with just a 10-minute drive from Phoenix, according to the Arizona Gamily Commission. The 1990s gave birth to casinos in Arizona, making them legal so long as they were built on Native American reservations, according to the American Casino Guidebook.
